Our friend Marketa asked us this question:

I'm not sure I want to register using just one traditional store. I have been seeing different things on lots of online stores. Is there a way for me to put together my own list of gift ideas from all different sources?

I think I've seen a few places online where you can create registries like this, but I don't know which ones are trustworthy.

Some of the sites only let you choose from the stores/websites they partner with, but The Things I Want lets you choose any store on the web.

Has anyone used an online registry like these? Is it bad etiquette to tell people exactly what you want and from where?
